Merrimac State High School is an accredited Registered Training Organisation (RTO), and, follows policies and procedures compliant with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF).

A copy of the school’s Vocational Education Policies and Procedures document is available for perusal in the Administration building as well as in the Senior Schooling office.

Issues relevant to subject selection and vocational education include:

Fee Structures and Refund Policy: Please refer to the Resource Lending Scheme Information for 2007. This document is available for collection from the Resource Room and Administration building.

Details for Vocational Subjects with embedded vocational competencies are located in this booklet. A complete list of all certificates and competencies is also available in hard copy with each subject Head of Department as well as listed on the next page.

These noted subjects will be offered to students, dependent on sufficient student numbers, and, the availability of physical and human resources required to conform to AQTF policy guidelines.

Recognition of Prior Learning: Students who have completed other courses or competencies with another school or a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) can request to have their qualifications formally recognised with Merrimac State High School. Applications and appeals for RPL can be found in the VTA Student Information Manual 2007 which will be distributed to all students undertaking such courses of study in Term 1.
