The new Education (General Provisions) Act 2006 provides the legislative basis for a range of recent significant government reform initiatives that will have important implications for our school community.
Key aspects of the legislation include changes related to enrolments, transfer of student information between schools, compulsory school attendance and student behaviour.
The reforms also include the introduction of the non-compulsory Prep Year in 2007, changes to school reporting requirements, and minor changes to P&C association requirements.
Parents are encouraged to learn more about these significant changes to Queensland education.
A comprehensive information statement is available at the school office or it can be viewed online at: www.education.qld.gov.au/review .
